In his first Christmas address as King of the United Kingdom, His Majesty King Charles III called for compassion and understanding towards those in need. The King paid tribute to those who have helped others in the difficult Christmas season, and those who have worked hard to provide aid and comfort to those less fortunate.
The King said that in these times, we must show compassion towards people from all backgrounds and walks of life, and “stand together, united in the knowledge that we all have a shared destiny.”
The King said it was his “honour and pleasure” to observe how parents, teachers, and neighbors have come together to help bring good to others.
He also praised the work of charities, healthcare professionals and scientists who have worked tirelessly to make the world a better place by finding vaccines or cures for many of our most persistent diseases and ailments.
The King concluded his address by wishing everyone a peaceful and joyous Christmas.
